The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) had the opportunity to teamed-up with fashion retailer Bloomingdales on a super-cool project. The CFDA had 48 of their top members (ranging from Billy Reid to Kenneth Cole, and DKNY) design custom football helmets in honor of the 2014 Superbowl (Super Bowl XLVIII), which will be held at MetLife stadium in New Jersey.
These fashion-forward helmets are currently on display at Bloomingdale’s 59th street location here in NYC, and are being auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the NFL Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives the lives of those touched by the game of football. I’ve posted a few of the custom helmets below. Click to view full collection
“This is the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the New York region and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate by joining Bloomingdale’s and the NFL in merging fashion and sports with the creation of these unique helmets,” says Steven Kolb, CFDA CEO.
