Foot Locker and a host of sporting world A-listers gathered at NYC’s Gotham Hall this week to host their annual fundraiser, the “On Our Feet” gala, which benefits a number of global initiatives toward providing financial support for higher education. The star-studded event served to raise awareness and significant funding for their academic funding programs, and celebrities in attendance included model Christie Brinkley, New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, and a number of New York Giants stars like Odell Beckham Jr., Victor Cruz, and Prince Amukamara.
Foot Locker’s annual soiree allows for big time athletes to mingle with executives from the sports and business worlds, all while having great fun for a noble cause. In fact, the atmosphere is so upbeat, each guest is required to pair their black tie attire with a favorite pair of sneakers. The formal cocktail getups coupled with kicks isn’t a look for everyone, but the superstars at the “On Our Feet” event pulled it off in stride. All while raising money and awareness for a marvelous cause. Truly a win-win.
The event has raised over $16 million since its inception 15 years ago, and it has quickly become an annual favorite among the sports world’s most stylish and successful. Among the benefactors of the Foot Locker Foundation’s efforts will be the UNCF and the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, looking to supply funds to those who cannot afford to pursue education on their own. Foot Locker is clearly committed to providing a superior brand experience, both in terms of their product and their place in society, taking their good fortunes and reinvesting them in the community. The “On Our Feet” gala, again, served as a perfect embodiment of that.
