Spot a Stroke With Paul George. The NBA star teams Up with American Stroke Association to bring awareness!

Blood clots are no joke .. Just ask Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh who was diagnosed with some in his lungs after this year’s NBA All-Star games. Blood clots can lead to strokes..just ask NBA All Star Paul George.

The Indiana Pacers Small Forward has recently partnered up with The American Stroke Association to bring awareness to this life altering disease. A stroke can be caused by a blood clot blocking passage of oxygen and nutrients to the brain. It can also be caused by a ruptured blood vessel in the brain.

At the age of 6, George’s mother, Paulette, suffered a stroke which left her partially paralyzed. In his video PSA , there ‘s a depiction of a young Paul George and there’s a present day Paul George telling his story. Both characters were greatly affected by the effects of a stroke, but only one can tell you go F.A.S.T. The clever acronym stands for the classic signs of an acute onset of a stroke : face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty, and what to do when you witness these signs, time to call 911.

You might be an Pacers fan but when it comes to a stroke, don’t pace yourself , go fast.
