Oklahoma City Thunder Russell Westbrook’s ‘Why Not? Foundation’ Hosts Third Annual Celebrity Bowling Event

Written by Jrich in Athletes Fashion,Athletes Foundations / Charities on Apr 2nd 2013

Why not, why not, why not ? I’m always hearing Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Russell Westbrook refer to the phrase which he coined, or even using social media channels to hash tag the phrase, #whynot. I thought the phrase symbolizes Russell’s unorthodox sense of style, but it goes past fashion and basketball, as it also stands for Russell’s foundation. Founded in 2012,  The ‘Why Not?’ foundation is on a mission to keep children motivated in life, helping them through adversity, encouraging them to be the best they can be.

Yesterday Russell Westbrook got the squad, & coaches together, as they left the ball court, and headed for the lanes, to support Russell’s third  annual celebrity bowling event, benefiting his ‘Why Not? Foundation’ Scholarship fund, which assists in putting children from the Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County through college. It looked like a fun-filled event, as teammates, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, Thunder fans, and Kids from the Boys & Girls club, all enjoyed a day of bowling. Check   out photos from the event below.

“I grew up in the Boys and Girls Club and I’m just trying to find a way to help give back to the community.” -Russell Westbrook
