As we wrap up 2015, we wanted to share with you the Biggest Athletes Fashion Trends of the year. Check them out below, as athletes continue to express their off court interest in the world of menswear fashion. What trends were your favorite?
#1 The wide-brimmed fedora hat took sports by storm this year, athletes experimented with the trend by pairing their wide brimmed hats with tailored suits, t-shirts, denims, pretty much any outfit worn was accessorized with a wool fedora. NBA stars Chris Paul and Lebron James perfected the look. In the words of Bill Cunningham “the hats were felt, not saw, felt.”
#2 There was a demand for prints this year as well. Guys showed no fear when it came to exploring daring patterns. We saw an array of florals, bold plaids and graphic designs.
#3 The traditional necktie continues to fade, it’s cooler to wear a sharp suit with a crisp collar shirt fastened to the very top. GQ dubbed the look “Air Tie,” It’s just as clean as wearing a necktie, but shows more youth, and flava. Athletes showed a fondness for the trend attending gamedays and red carpet events tie-less.
#4 The color of the year (especially the fall season) was Camel, the light brown shade was a big color trend for menswear fashion in general. Athletes really embraced the trend by sporting camel-colored outerwear pieces that ranged from sports coats and jackets to lengthy wool overcoats. The neutral hue stood out well. Personally I prefer the camel color in the form of a wool overcoat, which makes an excellent staple piece for your wardrobe.
