Energetic and fun are two words I would use to describe the Kids Rock! Fashion Show. On September 10th, young fashion stars danced and walked with confidence down the runway. Some walked fast with nervousness and some ran into one another as they embraced their inner model. All of it was absolutely adorable. “The kids have so much fun with it. You can see how much fun they have walking the runway, showing their personality, wearing all the different clothes they wear day in and day out, so it’s always a good time,” said NY Giants star Victor Cruz of the Victor Cruz Foundation and the resident emcee. The show was held at the Skylight at Moynihan Station and showcased the freshest kid’s styles for spring 2016.
The Kids Rock! Fashion Show benefited the Victor Cruz Foundation. The Victor Cruz Foundation supports the STEM program and encourages kids to “be more than their socioeconomic environments” allow them to be. The foundation places importance on kids learning life skills for a better well-being as they grow up.
NFL DT Devon Still’s daughter, Leah Still, also made her debut at the show. Leah has battled with Stage IV cancer and she was received as expected, with applause. The crowd admired her courage as well as her playful runway strut. In July, Leah received a scan that assured her, and her NFL father, that she is still cancer free. Other celebrity kids that walked the runway were Melissa Joan Hart’s two boys, Braydon and Mason. As well as Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and La La’s son Kiyan.
The fashion show was sponsored by Haddad Brands and consisted of kids dressed in Nike, Hurley, Jordan, Converse, and others. Kids Rock! also donated a hefty amount of clothes to K.I.D.S. Fashion Delivers, which will provide apparel to children in need.
