Before the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup tournament tipped off, MasterCard invited us out to The Barclays in Farmingdale, NY for an early tour of Black Course at Bethpage State Park, and an introduction to their latest payment technology– MasterPass.
We spent a good portion of our day exploring the course, and inaudibly watching professional golfers perfect their swings in practice rounds, as they prepared for the competition. Our main event was an afternoon visit to the exquisite on-site Mastercard Club.
Mastercard held an exclusive presentation for us members of the media to experience the enhanced Masterpass– a digital payment service that makes online, in-app, and in-store shopping safe and easy by storing all of your payment and shipping information in one convenient and secure place.
The Mastercard Club is transformed into an amazing experience center to engage consumers with the Masterpass technology, demonstrating the ease of online shopping, and tapping to pay with Masterpass in-store. To help demonstrate the service was Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, Raja Rajamannar and Pro Golfer & Mastercard ambassador Graeme McDowell.
“As a proud sponsor of The Barclays, we’re delighted to enhance the spectator experience by not only bringing our latest payment technology to the tournament but also through our modernized and elevated brand identity,” said Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer, Mastercard.
Mastercard holders at the Fedex Cup will enjoy exclusive access, experiences and benefits, which includes the chance to use the latest payment technology from Mastercard throughout the course, and 10% off shop apparel and food at concession stands, so make sure to take advantage of your Mastercard folks.
