Athletes and rappers are like two inseparable cousins who grew up together but wind up choosing two completely different paths. Coincidentally, despite their different trajectories in life, they tend to date the same type of girls, move in the same social circles, drive similar foreign cars and sometimes even engage in a little bit of friendly competition. However, at the end of the day, they both will be quick to tell you that “it’s all love”.
Superstar rapper Kanye West a.k.a Yeezus, released the Yeezy 750 Boost, by way of Adidas during NBA All-Star Weekend 2015. Already, he’s receiving head nods of approval from some of your favorite athletes.
Kanye previously enjoyed success with his Air Yeezys and Air Yeezys II by Nike. You saw NBA basketball players of the likes of Lebron James and Nate Robinson wearing them on the court during games. The same might not be true for Kanye’s latest sneaker release which is little too “high end” for playing sports.
Despite the boost cushioning technology, Yeezy 750’s, aesthetically these are not really athletic sneakers. They are made to be worn casually perhaps at a lounge or a runway fashion show. These sneakers can be fun for that person who likes to rock his suits with sneakers, as seen by several professional athletes off the court.
So far, Adidas has released the all grey Yeezy 750 Boost, with colors like the all black and the all red coming down the pipeline very soon. A pair of these will run you about $350, with resale price tags in the thousands. Did you expect anything less from the rapper spitting couture level flows? To Kanye’s defense, during a recent interview with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club in NY, he said he had nothing to do with pricing the Yeezys. To real sneakers head, cost is rarely an issue. Do you plan on copping your very own Yeezy 750 Boost?
